Product Description Godon's the senior member of the engine family, the fastest and most powerful engine on the rails. Based on the Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends TV show, The Thomas Wooden Railway System sparks children's creativity while teaching problem solving, developing fine motor skills, and promoting social interaction. Exceptionally well made, each piece of the Thomas Wooden Railway System is handmade from New England Hard Maple and other renewable hardwoods and elaborately detailed.
Editorial Review Gordon is a long, blue express locomotive who supplies water for Thomas and tows a coal tender. Based on the award-winning PBS television series Shining Time Station by the Rev. W. Awdry, the Thomas the Tank train system is the perfect child's train set. Each wooden vehicle has a different name, character, and face. The magnetic bumpers make linking up easy. Friendly characters will engage your child in hours of imaginary play. Designed to support your child's development, the system encourages the use of new motor and cognitive skills. --Sandy Hirsch

Essential for Thomas fans November 9, 2001 Emilia Palaveeva (Seattle, WA United States) 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
Gordon is one of the main engines in the stories about Thomas. And kids love these stories a lot. The wooden toy comes with a lifetime warranty, but it is so durable you probably will not need it. Our Gordon has survived a lot and is still intact. My son loves the face (a little too serious and solemn, but that how Gordon usually is depicted in the stories)--it facilitates pretend play. Gordon comes with a tender, which attaches to the engine with a magnet. A magnet on the front also allows kids to make long trains with their other Thomas characters.
Here Comes the Express!! April 25, 2003 Jeffrey T. Munson (Dixon, IL) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Gordon is the large express engine. He's bigger than the other Thomas the Tank Engine toys. His bright blue paint and smiling face make him a joy to play with. My son just recently got Gordon, and he has quickly become one of his favorites. He likes to attach all of his other cars to Gordon and have him pull them. As with other trains in this family, Gordon is strong and durable and will provide hours of fun, interactive play. Pick Gordon up today for your child; they will thank you for it.
My son just loves these toys June 12, 2000 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
My son has become an absolute Thomas the Tank Engine Fanatic. He sleeps with his favorites and cannot get enough play time with them. He loves the computer game and also watches the videos. He has to have stories read to him from the complete Thomas book before he can go to sleep. And why not. The cars are durable, they teach motor skills and their fun for both of us.
Gordon's the best December 29, 2005 U See B 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Gordon is of the typical high quality I have come to expect from Learning Curve's wooden railway brand. Also he is one of the main characters on the Island of Sodor. Gordon is the biggest engine hence is the biggest toy, has two sets of wheels which move separately, which is essential to sharp turns, and he comes with a tender. Just a well made quality wooden toy, classic.

I noticed the numbers on all the engines so I bought this one so I could make it so my son could count the engines from1-10. This is number 4. Only the coal cars are marked. This is a large engine. It's size makes it difficult to push around and it derails easily. My son is 16 moths old and has trouble with this engine I recommend it if for the 2+ crowd.
