Perfect gift for the 10 month old July 25, 2010 Joan Johnson (WC, OH USA) I gave this toy as a gift to a 10 month old boy, and am delighted to say, he was excited about it from the second we opened the box for him. He couldn't wait to get his hands on it! He is not yet walking, but was comfortable sitting down next to the toy, on the floor, and fingering the gears and having his mom show him how it played music. This little boy's eyes just sparkled as he heart the music and watched the action. I'm a grandma and have given a lot of baby gifts in my time, but this may be the most instant positive reaction I've seen a toy get for this age group. For once, the toy was better than the box it came in! Highly recommend.
A winner July 31, 2010 Robert G. Leroe (Saugus, MA USA) I got this for my grandson and it is a winner. When I look for toys, I want something that's not going to be over in a few minutes. A lot of toys are. They sustain little interest after an initial playtime. This one works because there's so much that can be done with it. It should hold a child's interest over time. It has a built-in storage place for all the parts, so when the fun's over, it can be put away without having to search for the pieces the next time it is played with. It is NOT a quiet toy, but a fun one, and infants will enjoy making music with it.
The Kid Loved It August 16, 2010 R. Thomasson (Kansas) This was a gift for a baby in the family. The toy is very well built and sturdy. The boy who received the toy is not quite two and was absolutely fascinated by the thing. His attention was fixed on the gears and he seemed endlessly entertained by the motion of the moving parts. The pieces can tend to wander off, but of course that's true of any similar toy.
An appealing toy for kids August 24, 2010 R. Suarez Giacoman (Mc Allen, Texas United States) Those of us who are parents know how kids are with toys: unpredictable. They may like it from the very beginning, they may not seem to like it only to return later and make it their favorite toy and so forth.
So what can actually be expected from a toy designed for kids +9 months? Well, for starters, something that keeps the baby entertained and draws his/her attention with colors and music so they start playing and developing more their motor skills. This Playskool center does just that.
As described by other reviewers, activities are pretty basic for us adults, you have a ball that can be dropped, motorized gears that can be played with, removed and stacked, and it also plays music! My kid just loved it!
So you have pretty much several toys into one, which to me is a pretty good deal. It is very easy to play with and it looks well made so I guess it will be around for a while.
Consider though, that it needs to be assembled, which is not difficult at all, and to place the batteries (not included) a Phillips screwdriver will be needed.
Great value for the price.
Really Cool Baby Toy! August 25, 2010 Sara M (Houston, Texas) This is one of the neater baby toys I have found recently. I really like it because there are som many things for your child to manipulate. And, in my experience, any toy that involves balls rolling around is sure to be a hit.
I hade an 8 month old, 2 yr old, and 4 yr old all playing together with this toy! My older kids loved showing the baby how to drop the balls and spin the gears. A toy that brings siblings together gets 5 stars from me!
